Lutry - Cully
I was walking this route on November 9, 2025, when I was visiting a friend who lives in Pully. I had for a couple of years been wanting to walk in this area among the wineyards during autumn, so we decided to make an afternoon out of it.
We found inspiration for this walk from the Terasses de Lavaux, but as we only had the late afternoon, we decided to do the route seen below. The Terasses de Lavaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth a vist.

We started out in Lutry, which is easily reachable with both train and bus. From the train station we walked up the small roads and immediately had amazing views over the large areas covered in wineyards with lake Geneva and alps in the background.
You constantly walk in between the wineyards or through small villages and wineries, which makes for a very special setting and calmness. The weather was great and although it was November, it was still quite warm.
At most wineries you can buy wines, drinks and locally produced snacks, cheese and food. At some places, they have small restaurants and at other places, it is self service. We bought a couple of drinks and enjoyed them in the middle of the wineyards looking south towards both Switzerland and France.
Since the weather was nice, we decided to try and catch the sunset down by the lake. As the sun slowly lowered, the colors over the wineyards constantly changed in different warm orange and yellow colors.
The walking paths are some places steep and with steps, but all well maintained and since parts are also on normal road, it is an easy route that can be done by most people. Walking down towards Cully, we again had great views over the lake and the alps in the background.
We reached the end of the wineyards and the lakeside in perfect timing to see the sun set in the horizon. We walked along the lake back towards the train station in Cully as it got dark and took a train back to Pully.
