Sertig Dörfli - Davos
I did this hike on the 9th of August, 2026. It was the second day of a two day hike I did in the area around Davos. The ridge hike to Jatzhora and Jakobshorn looked very nice, so I decided on the hike below, starting in Sertig Dörfli and ending in Davos. On day one, I had hiked from Monstein to Sertig Dörfli following the Walserweg.Â

I had spend the night in Davos, so I started the morning with a short bus ride back to Sertig Dörfli where i started the hike. It was another very nice and sunny morning as I folllowed the trail out of the village. Not long after starting the hike, I had great views back down in direction Sertig Dörfli and to the waterfall and mountains I had passed by the day before.
After about half an hour walking through forest, I came up above the tree line and had again amazing views to the mountains on the opposite side of the valley. It had so far been a calm start to the hike, but up here, I encountered quite a few mountain bikers, as the area has many well marked trails.Â
Following the hiking trail, I made it up to Tällifurgga where I took a break before continuing up over the ridge. The views on most of this hike were really stunning and I was happy I had decided to include the ridge trail. The Walserweg that I had been following so far went over the pass and back down in the next valley. This trail also looked really nice, but that will have to be another time.
The trail on the ridge up to Jatzhora is a couple of kilometers, and I walked very slowly and took some breaks along the way to be able to take in the views. Despite it being relatively warm, the views were clear in all directions and I could even see some of the glaciers around Piz Grialetsch to the south.
I made it to the end of the ridge and hiked the last part up to Jatzhora. I had met quite a few people on the way, but everyone was walking in the opposite direction coming from the cable car at Jakobshorn. The views up from Jatzhora were even more amazing than along the ridge and the blue Stadlersee looked almost artificial in the sun.
After Jatzhora, I continued on the trail down to the cable car station at Jakobshorn. Just before reaching the station, I turned right and followed the hiking trail taking me down into the next valley. The trail was in the beginning a bit narrow and steep with loose material, but after about half an hour, it flattened out and it was nice to walk down after the last couple of hours uphill.
The views into the valley were great, and I would like to come back and explore the area at the end of the valley another time. I continued on the trail which was now below the tree line, and it was nice to be back in the shade after some very sunny days. The last part of the trail before I was down in the valley was again quite steep, and as I was getting tired, I was happy when I finally made it down.
Down in the valley, I could follow a gravel road most of the way back to Davos. It was a nice calm and easy ending to a really great two day hike in this area. Back in Davos Dorf, I followed the road back to the train station, from where I caught the train taking me back to Landquart and then Zurich.
